Reviews on 69 Seconds restaurant at Sarjapura Road, Bangalore

Are you a food lover and looking for great places to eat in Bangalore? Here is my quick review on the 69 Seconds restaurant in Bangalore.

Today was a really busy day with a lot of blogging and promotional activities on the newly launched Google+ Pages. We decided to relax a bit and go out to get the lunch. I am writing this review just after a heavy lunch from the 69 Seconds restaurant.

If I need to go and grab a quick lunch, our first, second and last choice in the area is 69 Seconds restaurant, located in Sarjapur Road, Bangalore. I am not saying this is the best restaurant in town, but this is our choice for a quick take away lunch for several factors including reasonable price, quick delivery, availability of items of our taste etc.

69 Seconds Restaurant, Bangalore

This restaurant was opened recently, just after we relocated to Bangalore. This is a new venture by a group of software professionals and is located very close to our home in Sarjapur Road, Bangalore. The name of the restaurant caught our attention and we tried the food in first couple of days itself. They have given a lot of definitions for the strange name, and one of them is, they want to cook and serve their signature item (Chicken Biryani) in 69 seconds for the busy people.

Well, when it comes to food, the name does not matter and so is the people behind it. All that matters is the chef and the taste of the food he makes.

If you are looking for tasty food, 69 seconds will not disappoint you.

Their special biryani is really special. It looks and tastes different from teh biryani we get in other restaurants. It is not the typical Andhra style spicy biryani. It comes with white biryani rice with some colored rice spread over it. Not much oil and not too spicy. Tastes really good. There are 5-6 pieces of chicken spread on the top, which is similar to the chicken 65 (they call it Chicken 69!)

The chicken biryani is available with regular or boneless chicken. Boness chicken biryani is Rs 10 extra, but is worth the extra money.

Portion is reasonably big but not enough for 2 people to share, unless you are on a diet!

Chicken 69 is another favorite item we usually pick in 69 seconds. This is exactly the same chicken comes with their biryani.

Butter chicken gravy is not bad, but is spicy. In most restaurants, butter chicken looks almost orange in color with butter spread over it. The butter chicken we get in 69 seconds restaurant is dark red, which gives the impression that it is too spicy, but it was not that bad. Taste is average and people who do not like spicy food may not prefer it.

The Indian bread items you get there - Pardavala butter naan, roti, kulcha etc were not so great. We found them all were bit hard and did not really impress us.

After trying couple of items, our choices at 69 seconds are limited to the Chicken Biryani and Chicken 69, which I rank one of the best in town. I am yet to find a better chicken biryani in Bangalore.

Couple of things I like in 69 seconds restaurant, Bangalore:

Before you head on to this restaurant, let me tell you what I like there, which may or may not impress you:

1. Tasty chicken biryani and other chicken items

2. Quick serving of food

3. Very spacious restaurant. Since most of the customers prefer home delivery or take away, you will not see much crowd in the restaurant.

The dining area is very plain and open. Kids can walk around and have fun. However, if you are looking for a birthday party or place for office dinner, this place may not be the right choice because:

1. Very small menu. Not many choices. No fried rice items or regular meals.

2. No private area. It is an open hall. You won't have any privacy to have fun with kids or have serious discussions with colleagues.

3. You have to place the order in the cash counter and pay in advance. In a party or a group dinner, you may want to keep ordering as you eat.

You can visit their website here: 69 seconds restaurant. Download their menu from here.

I have tasted only a limited number of items at 69 Seconds. I will probably go back and check other items in the near future and post what I think. Also, I will be writing a lot more restaurant reviews in the coming days. We have eaten in most of the good restaurants in Bangalore and have collected a lot of pictures. Check back soon for more restaurant reviews.
