Veterinary Technician National Examination popularly known as VTNE, is an examination used to test the knowledge and skills of a veterinary technician. This VTNE exam is administered by the AAVSB (American Association of Veterinary State Boards) which consists of about 57 veterinary licensing boards. Veterinary Technician National Exam eligibility criteria


Candidates who have completed a veterinary technology program accredited by the American or Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) are eligible to apply for this exam. Keep in mind that in some states, the on-the-job training will be sufficient for eligibility. But before taking the exam, you have to apply or pay the fees associated with it. Apart from this, you have to provide a government issued form of identification. Each candidate will be allowed to take the VTNE exam 5 times. But if you wish to take the exam more than 5 times, then you have to make a special request to AAVSB. In order to apply for additional attempts, candidates are requested to contact vettech@aavsb.org for instructions and materials.
